The thing has been an absolute cunt forever, and I actually stopped using for a while earlier this year. After all. Sorts of tinkering I got it sort of working again, but after today's Windows Updates it does this and doesn't boot. I've completely lost interest in trying to fix it further. Time to check out the Apple Store.
